Since 2007, the Sayat-Nova Music School has held an In-School Piano Competition, aimed at encouraging the professional growth of young pianists, revealing their performing potential, and creating an additional platform for stage experience and creative development.
Students from different grades of the school take part in the competition, presenting programs appropriate to their age and level of professional training. The competition format gives children an opportunity not only to demonstrate the knowledge and performance skills they have acquired, but also to learn how to work toward a clearly defined goal, cope with the responsibility of performing on stage, and listen to and evaluate one another’s performances.
For the school, the in-school competition is first and foremost a continuation of the educational and creative process. The competition result itself is not the only priority; equal importance is given to each participant’s progress, new experience, and the development of a deeper and more conscious relationship with music.
At the same time, the competition helps identify particularly talented students and supports their further participation in municipal, national, and international competitions and festivals.
