Departments and Teachers

Hasmik Ancharakyan graduated with honors from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where she studied under Eleonora Voskanyan, Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR.

Following her graduation, she worked as an accompanist in the class of Tatevik Sazandaryan, People's Artist of the USSR, and subsequently pursued a career in teaching.

During her years at the Sayat-Nova and Tchaikovsky Music Schools in Yerevan, she has received diplomas and letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, as well as certificates of honor from Yerevan Municipality.

In 2024, she was awarded the title of “Best Teacher of the School” and received a medal. In 2025, she received the “Best Teacher” diploma at the Alatone International Competition.

She has received diplomas for Best Accompanist Performance at numerous national and international competitions. Her students regularly participate in national and international competitions and festivals, earning various awards.

For many years, she has initiated and organized faculty concerts at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School, regularly performing in these concerts herself.

Arusyak Kostanyan studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. She is a laureate of national and international competitions.

Alongside her teaching activities at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, where she is also pursuing a Candidate of Sciences degree.

She is the author of three collections of piano arrangements, one of which serves as a piano teaching manual. She has also published piano-vocal scores of songs by composers Arthur Grigoryan and Marine Ales.

In collaboration with Angin Hambarpyumyan, she co-created the children's musical Darine.

She maintains an active concert career, performing with the Hayren National Song Choir and Orchestra.

Arman Grigoryan graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where he studied under Professor Eduard Tadevosyan. He is a laureate of several national competitions and was a member of the New Names Foundation.

As a member of the Van String Quartet, he participated in international competitions and festivals in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Russia, including the Shostakovich International String Quartet Competition in Moscow.

He has performed as a guest musician with the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of conductor Uwe Berkemer. Until 2023, he was a first violinist with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, touring internationally and performing in prestigious concert halls around the world.

Since 2013, he has been actively involved in music education. He has founded student orchestras and various ensembles at several music schools and has authored a number of original instrumental arrangements. His students are laureates of the Renaissance, ArtMusic, and AGBU Discovers Talents competitions.

He further developed his conducting skills under the guidance of Ruben Asatryan, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia.

At the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School, he directs the chamber orchestra, fostering students' ensemble performance skills and collaborative musicianship.

Aram Khachaturyan is a fourth-year student at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, studying under Professor Hakob Jaghats­panyan.

Alongside his teaching activities, he performs as a member of the Artsakh State Jazz Orchestra.

Arman Muradyan studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory under Professor Alexander Manukyan.

He continued his professional music education at the Conservatory in Lyon, France, studying under Professor Jean-Denis Michat.

Lilit Perikhanyan graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where she studied under Professor Gayane Muradyan. She earned her master's degree in 2023 and continued her studies in advanced performance and creative mastery under the same professor from 2023 to 2025.

In 2022, she won First Prize at the 4th Mozart International Competition for Performing Musicians.

As a flutist, she has performed as a soloist, ensemble musician, and orchestral player. She has participated in the Armenian Contemporary Chamber Music Festival, ART WEEK 2024, Guardians of National Culture, and Guardians of Art cultural programs. She has performed with the Danielyan Folk Band and gave a solo recital at the Grand Hall of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in 2025.

In 2021, she served as second flutist of the Kandinsky Symphony Orchestra.

She has been engaged in music education since 2018, teaching at the Haykanush Danielyan Art School and the Tigran Chukhajyan Music School in Yerevan. Since 2024, she has been a flute teacher at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School.

In her teaching, she works with students of different age groups, developing their musical understanding, performance abilities, and technical skills while preparing them for concerts, examinations, and creative projects.

Azniv Minasyan studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and subsequently pursued postgraduate studies under Professor and composer Khachatur Avetisyan.

She is a laureate of international competitions. For approximately 25 years, she served as the principal kanun player of the Tatul Altunyan State Song and Dance Ensemble.

She has been awarded the Grigor Narekatsi Commemorative Medal by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.

She has also received certificates of honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in recognition of her active contribution to the preservation and promotion of Armenian folk culture, as well as her significant contribution to the development and promotion of Armenian national dance.

Gohar Balyan graduated from the Vocal and Kanun Departments of the Alexander Achemyan Music School in Yerevan. In 2011, she graduated from the Kanun Department of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. In 2022, she earned a master's degree in Music Education from the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Since 2010, she has been a solo kanun player with the State Orchestra of Armenian National Instruments at the National Center of Folk Music and Dance.

In 2007, she participated in the first season of Folk Singer, a television competition produced by Shant TV, reaching the final round. As part of the project, she performed in Armenia and the United States.

In 2008, as an outstanding graduate of the Alexander Achemyan Music School, she presented the Armenian kanun in London.

Since 2022, she has been teaching at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School. She also teaches Armenian folk singing at the A. Tsitsikyan Music School.

Lilit Simonyan graduated from the Piano Department of the Armen Tigranyan Music School in Yerevan and subsequently from the Classical Singing Department of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where she studied under Professor Ruzanna Baghdasaryan. She qualified as an opera and chamber singer and vocal teacher.

She is a laureate of national and international competitions.

Since 2008, she has taught classical singing at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School. From 2022 to 2025, she served as Head of the Vocal Department. Her students have received awards at national and international competitions.

In recognition of her teaching activities, she has received letters of appreciation from the school's administration and certificates of honor from the Mayor of Yerevan. She has also participated in vocal masterclasses and professional training programs.

Since 2011, she has been a soprano soloist with the Paros Chamber Choir of the Unison NGO, also serving as a substitute choir conductor when needed.

As a soloist and choir member, she has performed extensively in Armenia and abroad, including concerts in Paris, Riga, and Sochi. Her performances have taken place at the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Komitas Chamber Music House, the Aram Khachaturian and Arno Babajanyan Concert Halls, as well as various theatre venues.

For eleven years, she volunteered as the director of a singing group at the Mayri Center for Curative Education and Social Therapy.

Since 2004, she has been actively involved in the musical life of the Armenian Apostolic Church as a soloist and, since 2015, as a choir director. She founded and directed the Zoravor Choir of the youth association at the Holy Zoravor Church and the Manunk Children's Choir affiliated with the church.

Lili Markosyan studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory under Professor Tatevik Sazandaryan. She subsequently pursued postgraduate studies under Professor Susanna Martirosyan.

She continued her professional education in Poland, undertaking postgraduate studies at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw under Professor Jolanta Janutyk.

She teaches at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Academic Singing and a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Collaborative Piano.

She has given solo recitals in Armenia and Poland.

She has also worked as a vocal teaching methodology specialist at the Cultural Education Support Foundation. As part of the Foundation's programs, she has conducted methodological workshops and masterclasses for teachers and students of music and art schools across Armenia, contributing to the development of vocal education and the professional skills of music educators.

Anna Harutyunyan graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory with a degree in Musicology. She also studied composition under renowned Armenian composers Stepan Lusikyan and Mikhail Kokzhayev.

In 2009, she defended her doctoral-level dissertation entitled “Certain Characteristics of Polyphonic Writing in the Works of Armenian Composers of the Second Half of the 20th Century,” earning the Candidate of Art Studies degree. From 2018 to 2021, she pursued doctoral studies at the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.

She has been engaged in teaching since 1993 and has taught at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School since 2004. She is also an Associate Professor at the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, where she has served as Head of the Department of Music Pedagogy within the Faculty of Art Education since 2024.

She is the author of approximately 40 scholarly articles and educational and methodological publications. Her research focuses on Armenian compositional art, polyphony, music theory, and issues related to music education.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, she has authored solfeggio workbooks, textbooks, and methodological materials for students in grades 1–7 of music schools. She also contributed to the development of the solfeggio curricula for music and art schools published in 2026.

She has participated in national and international academic conferences, scholarly sessions, and professional discussions. She collaborates with the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, contributing to academic degree assessment and professional qualification processes.

Alongside her academic and teaching activities, she is actively involved in composition. Her original works have been presented at concerts and creative evenings, including Dreams of Love and Confession of the Soul.

As part of programs organized by the Cultural Education Support Foundation, she regularly conducts solfeggio masterclasses at music schools throughout Armenia, contributing to the improvement of teaching methods and the professional development of music educators.

Lunara Grigoryan (Hambardzumyan) was born in Stepanakert. She graduated from the Komitas Music School in Stepanakert and subsequently from the Choral Conducting Department of the Sayat-Nova Music College.

She received her higher professional education in Choral Conducting at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and continued her studies at the master's level under Professor Tigran Hekekyan.

During her professional career, she worked at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School and with the Little Singers of Armenia Choir, focusing on children's music education and the development of choral performance skills.

For many years, she served as a choir conductor at the Children's and Youth Creative Center in Stepanakert. She also founded a children's choir in the village of Vank, Artsakh. The choir participated in the community's cultural life and provided liturgical music during Divine Liturgies at Gandzasar Monastery.

In Artsakh, she initiated and organized a National Song and Dance Festival involving approximately 300 students. The festival aimed to preserve and promote Armenian traditional music, dance, and cultural heritage.

In recognition of her contribution to the preservation and development of national culture, she was awarded the Sayat-Nova Medal.

She has many years of experience teaching music and the subject of Armenian National Song and Dance, placing particular emphasis on passing Armenian musical heritage on to younger generations.

She currently serves as a choir conductor at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School. She also teaches Music and Armenian National Song and Dance at Yerevan Basic School No. 173, named after Vahagn Vardevanyan, where she chairs the methodological association for Arts and Crafts.

Tamara Galstyan graduated from the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Art Education of the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, earning a master's degree.

She is a laureate of a national music competition.

She currently directs the Patilner Choir at the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School, fostering students' choral performance skills.
