With the support of the Yerevan Municipality, Sayat-Nova Music School has received two new KAWAI grand pianos.

The acquisition of these instruments is an important investment in improving the school's facilities and the quality of music education. They will help the school deliver its teaching, concerts, creative activities, and educational programs to an even higher standard.

Equipping schools with modern, high-quality musical instruments is an important part of the Yerevan Municipality's efforts to develop music education and modernize learning environments.

The two new KAWAI grand pianos will serve the creative work of the school's students and teachers, opening up new opportunities for learning and performance.

The 2025–2026 yearbook of Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School has been published. It contains information on the school's activities, programs, events, and concerts during the academic year. It also features the winners of national and international competitions, this year's graduates, students with excellent academic performance, and the school's teaching staff.

Congratulations to Anna Harutyunyan, Meline Selvinazyan, Naira Grigoryan, and Knarik Torosyan, teachers of music theory subjects at Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School, on the publication of their important work.

The subject curricula developed at the request of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia mark a new chapter in teaching music theory at music and art schools.

Prepared for publication and due to be printed soon are Music Literature, Part 4 by Meline Selvinazyan and Naira Grigoryan, as well as Dictations by Anna Harutyunyan and Zhanna Terlemezyan.

We are rounding off the 2025–2026 academic year, a year of many achievements and successes, with the launch of a new initiative. Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School is launching the concert series “A Musical Journey to...”, in which its students will perform in regions across Armenia.

The first destination is Gyumri.

Students of the school's folk instruments department will perform at the Gyumri Chamber Hall on June 20 at 4:00 p.m.

Kamancha player, conductor, and director of Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School Garik Nazaryan led an important meeting on the role of music and music education. The school's talented students also gave performances.

The cultural and educational program “Your Art at School” is run by the Special Creative Center for Children SNCO, with support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

On October 31, as part of the “Sister Schools” program supported by Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, students and teachers of Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School visited A. Ayvazyan Music School in Ashtarak.

The program began with a visit to the Perch Proshyan House-Museum. An open solfège lesson followed at A. Ayvazyan Music School, led by our accomplished specialist Meline Selvinazyan. Students and teachers from several music and art schools in Aragatsotn Province attended the lesson, which was followed by a concert.

The concert opened with a welcome performance by A. Ayvazyan Music School's choir, after which young musicians from Yerevan performed to a warm reception.

Initiated in 2019 by Yerevan's A. Hekimyan Music School, the “Sister Schools” program now brings together more than 60 music and art schools across Armenia and plays an important part in cultural life. Cooperation between institutions in Yerevan and the regions supports joint creative projects, exchanges of experience, teaching resources, master classes, aesthetic development, and activities that help children explore their country.

The delegation of the “Sister Schools” cooperation program for music and art schools in Yerevan and Armenia's regions, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, is leaving for France today.

Students from Yerevan's Tchaikovsky Specialized Secondary Music School, Sayat-Nova Music School, A. Hekimyan Music School, A. Tigranyan Music School, M. Malunts Art School, and music schools in Gyumri, Ashtarak, and Kapan will perform in Lyon and Valence on September 22 and 23.

Launched in 2019 on the initiative of Yerevan's A. Hekimyan Music School with ministry support, the “Sister Schools” program is broadening its geographical reach and will present its work abroad for the first time. Meetings with partner organizations and educational institutions are planned.

Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School has published its 2024–2025 academic yearbook, containing concise information on the school's activities and programs during the academic year.

The yearbook also presents the school's outstanding students, winners of national and international competitions, graduates, and teaching staff. It will interest people involved in arts education and music lovers more broadly.

As part of the first “Paytporik” National Solfège Olympiad, initiated by Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School with the support of Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, methodological works by musicologists and theorists Anna Harutyunyan and Shake Hovhannisyan have been published for music and art schools.

A competition for the best methodological works on teaching solfège was announced within the Olympiad. Of the seven submissions, works by Anna Harutyunyan and Shake Hovhannisyan were selected as the best, and their authors received cash awards.

Brochures containing these works will be distributed to music and art schools throughout the country.
