The Sayat-Nova Music School of Yerevan is one of Armenia’s educational institutions with a rich tradition of music education. Founded in 1934, the school has established its distinctive place and role in the musical life of Yerevan and Armenia over the decades.
The history of the school has been shaped by generations of dedicated teachers whose professional work has helped educate distinguished musicians, performers, educators, and cultural figures. Many of them now represent Armenian performing arts on prestigious stages in Armenia and around the world.
Today, while preserving the finest traditions of Armenian and academic music education, the Sayat-Nova Music School continues to develop as a modern, open, and creative educational environment.
Music education at the school is not limited to the transmission of professional knowledge and performance skills. Particular importance is placed on developing each child’s creative thinking, aesthetic taste, independence, and stage culture.
An active concert life, creative and educational projects, competitions and festivals, master classes, international cooperation, and cultural exchanges are an integral part of everyday life at the school. Throughout its nearly century-long history, the Sayat-Nova Music School has preserved its most important mission: to educate generations through music and open new paths for their creative development.
